Full Job Description

About the role

We're a family-run food distribution company looking for a dependable, detail-oriented person to join our office team. This is a blended role: you'll be the friendly voice customers reach when they call to place orders, and the careful hand behind our accounts payable and accounts receivable. If you like variety — some customer contact, some heads-down number work — and you take pride in getting the details right, this is a great fit. We'll train you on our systems; we're looking for accuracy, reliability, and a good attitude more than a specific background.

What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Answer incoming customer calls, key orders accurately, and provide product and pricing information
Handle accounts receivable — invoicing customers, applying payments, and keeping accounts current
Handle accounts payable — processing vendor invoices and preparing payments for management review and release
Respond to customer and vendor questions and follow through until they're resolved
Support management by preparing worksheets for review
Keep records organized and provide general accounting and office support as needed

What we're looking for

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
1+ year in an office, accounting, bookkeeping, or customer service role
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry and numbers
Comfortable on the phone and with customers
Reliable, organized, and able to juggle several tasks in a day
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn our ERP system

Preferred

Hands-on experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Prior experience with accounting software or an ERP
Comfort with basic Excel
Food industry knowledge
