Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Manager Trainer to join our team! This vital role combines expert bookkeeping skills with the passion to train and mentor team members on accounting systems and financial procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and empowering staff through effective training. Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following

· Keeps record of financial transactions for properties: enters accounts payable transactions, pays bills, maintains cash sheets and reconciles accounts.

· Reconciles and balances bank statements and promptly makes Assistant Administrator and Administrator aware of any inconsistencies.

· Maintains general ledger and verifies that entries are made accurately to the proper accounts.

· Maintains historical record by filing documents

· Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.

· Prepares payroll information for submission to payroll company.

· Participate in the development of HUD communications, including, but not limited to, annual budget preparations, requests to withdraw funds from Replacement Reserves and Residual Receipts and special claims.

· The Bookkeeper will stay current on, and abide by all laws, ordinances and regulations applicable to the Project, and provide training to site staff regarding applicable laws and HUD regulations.

· Training new onsite managers and update/train the current managers when rules/regulations change.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

· Assist in the implementation of operating plans in accordance with owner’s approved policy to assure long-range programmatic and financial viability of each unit.

· Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures that are in compliance with HUD, Fair Housing, Texas State Landlord Tenant Act and the Owners’ rules, requirements, regulations, notices and laws.

· Perform such additional duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to handle confidential material.

· Ability to organize and prioritize work.

· Ability to work independently.

· Ability to teach, train and direct the work of others and develop their strengths.

· General knowledge of computers and ability to use e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet programs.

· Ability to communicate clearly with superiors, subordinates, and unit board members.

· Ability to use a team approach to problem-solving and service delivery.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related housing documents, i.e., HUD manuals, financial reports, legal documents, etc.

· Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.

· Maintain files in accordance with Owners’ standards for office productivity.

· Ability to travel and maintain a valid driver’s license.

· Ability to share information and work as part of a team.

· Pass an employment background check.

Pay: $17.79 - $20.00 per hour
