Job Title: Senior Purchasing Manager

Assignment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $150,000 - $170,000

Work Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | On-site

About The Company:

Our client is a well-established manufacturing organization committed to operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. They are seeking an experienced procurement leader to oversee purchasing operations and develop strategic supplier partnerships that support long-term business growth.

Job Description:

The Senior Purchasing Manager will lead all procurement activities for a large manufacturing facility, overseeing purchasing operations, supplier relationships, and a team of procurement professionals. This position plays a key role in developing sourcing strategies, optimizing costs, improving supplier performance, and ensuring materials are available to support production demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute purchasing strategies that align with operational and business objectives.
Lead, mentor, and support a team of buyers and purchasing professionals.
Build strong relationships with suppliers while negotiating pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
Monitor supplier performance and implement strategies to reduce supply chain risk.
Partner with operations, engineering, finance, and other departments to forecast material needs and support production schedules.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase purchasing efficiency and supplier performance.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Analyze purchasing data and market trends to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive purchasing or supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience managing procurement teams and supplier relationships.
Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor development skills.
Experience working with ERP systems and procurement software.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
Preferred: Master's degree and/or professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or CSCP.

Additional Details:

Full-time, on-site position located in Longview, TX.
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Position includes both strategic planning and day-to-day leadership within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
