Position Summary
The Kitchen Staff member is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with daycare guidelines, health and safety regulations, and established menus. This position maintains a clean, safe, and organized kitchen while ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to the daycare's approved menu.
- Follow portion sizes and age-appropriate food preparation guidelines.
- Prepare food safely and maintain proper food temperatures.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, dishes, appliances, and food preparation areas.
- Wash dishes and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen throughout the day.
- Properly store food and check expiration dates.
- Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures as required.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
- Notify the director or supervisor when food or supplies need to be reordered.
- Accommodate approved food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special meal requirements.
- Prevent cross-contamination and follow allergy-safety procedures.
- Dispose of food waste and garbage appropriately.
- Assist with maintaining kitchen equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Keep kitchen and food storage areas secure and inaccessible to children.
- Follow all daycare policies and applicable state childcare and health regulations.
- Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, and other daycare staff.
- Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the director.
Qualifications
- Previous food service, kitchen, school, daycare, or childcare experience preferred.

Position Summary
The Classroom Aide assists the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. The aide supports daily classroom activities, routines, supervision, cleanliness, and the overall care and well-being of each child.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher with the daily care and supervision of children.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Assist with age-appropriate learning activities, games, crafts, music, and other classroom activities.
- Help children develop positive social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
- Support children during meals, snacks, rest time, toileting, diapering, and other daily routines as assigned.
- Supervise children at all times and follow required staff-to-child ratios.
- Assist with transitions between classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, nap time, and other scheduled activities.
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials and supplies.
- Clean and sanitize toys, tables, equipment, and classroom areas as required.
- Assist with maintaining an organized classroom.
- Observe children's behavior, needs, and progress and communicate concerns to the classroom teacher or director.
- Follow individual care plans and classroom procedures when applicable.
- Treat every child with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children, families, and coworkers.
- Follow all daycare policies, procedures, and applicable childcare regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and daycare business.
- Assist the teacher with maintaining accurate classroom records and documentation as needed.

Assistant Director
Position Summary
The Assistant Director supports the Daycare Director in the daily operation and administration of the childcare center. This position helps ensure a safe, nurturing, organized, and developmentally appropriate environment for children while supporting staff, communicating with families, maintaining compliance, and assisting with the overall management of the center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Director with the daily operation and administration of the daycare.
- Help ensure compliance with all applicable childcare licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and daycare policies.
- Support the Director in maintaining a safe and positive environment for children and staff.
- Assist with hiring, training, orienting, and supervising daycare employees as assigned.
- Help create and maintain staff schedules and classroom coverage.
- Monitor staff-to-child ratios and assist with maintaining appropriate classroom coverage.
- Provide support and guidance to teachers and classroom staff.
- Assist with addressing staff concerns, performance issues, and workplace conflicts.
- Help ensure classrooms are clean, organized, appropriately staffed, and operating according to center policies.
- Assist with enrollment, registration, attendance, and maintaining children's records.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians.
- Respond to parent questions, concerns, and requests and refer matters to the Director when appropriate.
- Assist with tours, enrollment inquiries, and family orientation.
- Help maintain accurate staff and child records and required documentation.
- Assist with licensing visits, inspections, audits, and required documentation.
- Monitor daily attendance and assist with maintaining accurate records.
- Help oversee meal service, food safety, sanitation, and other operational procedures.
- Assist with emergency procedures, drills, incident reporting, and safety protocols.
- Help ensure staff follow proper procedures for supervision, discipline, sanitation, confidentiality, and child protection.
- Step into classrooms and assist with childcare duties when staffing needs require.
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace.
- Protect the confidentiality and privacy of children, families, and employees.
- Serve as Acting Director when the Director is unavailable, as assigned.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare, preschool, education, or daycare administration preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children, parents, teachers, and administrative staff.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging situations.
- Dependable, responsible, flexible, and able to make sound decisions.
- Must meet all applicable daycare licensing, background check, training, education, and health requirements.

The position requires flexibility, professionalism, good judgment, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities throughout the day.
