Overview:

Responsibilities: Position Summary:

The Admin Assistant supports Labor & Delivery (L&D) operations by coordinating procedure scheduling, managing patient communications, and assisting with charge capture and reconciliation processes. This role serves as a key operational partner to nursing leadership, ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and timely revenue capture across the perinatal continuum. The incumbent is responsible for the abstraction and entry of OR, OB Tirage and inpatient OB charges, and accurately reconciles data against edit reports. Will maintain statistics of all charge entry functions. In addition, oversees surgery and procedural scheduling, including scheduling L&D procedures and appointments (e.g., inductions, cesarean sections, procedures), as well as collaborating with clinics, providers, and ancillary departments to align schedules. Ensures appropriate sequencing, resource availability, and prioritization and maintains real-time updates in scheduling systems

Qualifications: Required Qualifications:

Understanding of medical terminology

Two years of demonstrated administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Demonstrated experience using various computer applications

Demonstrated data entry experience.

Ability to maintain flexibility and work effectively in a constantly changing environment

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System, especially in working with all levels of management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCs, and ICD10 coding principles

Knowledge of perinatal or surgical workflows

Knowledge of UCI policies, procedures and forms

Experience in charge capture within EPIC Electronic Medical Record
