Staff Operations Manager 3

Los Alamos National Laboratory

Los Alamos, NM

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. The Chief Operations Office is seeking a Staff Operations Manager 3 (SOM) to provide high-level administrative, business and operational support to the Chief Operating Oﬃcer, the TA-55 Facility Operations Directorate (TA55-DO), and Chemical & Waste Facility Operations (CWF FOD) teams. In this role, you will serve as a key advisor across our nuclear materials research and chemical waste management facilities. This is a regular, onsite role in Los Alamos, NM, with a salary range of $106,400 - $176,000.

Responsibilities:

· Plan, coordinate, and direct administrative management of business and operational activities

· Manage administrative and operational support staff

· Coordinate executive-level and division-level business functions

· Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on operational initiatives

· Facilitate strategic planning and tactical execution of division objectives

· Develop and implement systems, processes, and policies to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

· Expert knowledge and experience leading technical/administrative teams and managing operations (human resources, financial management, safety, security, procurement, or related field) and promoting an environment of continuous improvement

· Expert problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement solutions, plus a strong track record developing policies and procedures for compliance and efficiency

· Experience with strategic planning and tactical execution and advanced budget oversight and financial stewardship

· Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe

· Expert level knowledge of and consultative experience functioning as a member of an executive management team, to work effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel, and to gain consensus, build teams, and resolve conflicts

· Strong commitment to operational excellence, safety, ethics, and continuous improvement

· Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

Desired Qualifications:

· Knowledge and experience working with Laboratory Senior Management and/or high-level stakeholder interactions

· Extensive knowledge of the laboratory's structure and stakeholders as it relates to weapons production

· Knowledge of Facility Operations Director Model

· Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
