GASTROENTEROLOGIST

Location: West Covina, CA

Position Summary

Emanate Health Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Gastroenterologist to join our growing medical team in West Covina, California. The Gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of gastrointestinal conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and serve a diverse patient population across the San Gabriel Valley.

Position Highlights

· Full-time Gastroenterology opportunity with Emanate Health Medical Group.

· Outpatient and inpatient clinical responsibilities.

· Hospital coverage across Emanate Health’s three hospitals: Queen of the Valley Hospital, Inter-Community Hospital, and Foothill Presbyterian Hospital.

· Shared call responsibilities with other specialists.

Key Responsibilities

· Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with gastrointestinal disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings.

· Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations, medical histories, and review of diagnostic studies.

· Perform gastroenterology procedures, including endoscopy, colonoscopy, biopsies, and other appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

· Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with conditions such as GERD, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, colon polyps, and other GI-related disorders.

· Provide inpatient consultations and participate in shared 24-hour on-call coverage.

· Collaborate with primary care physicians, hospitalists, surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, and other specialists to coordinate patient care.

· Utilize MediTech as the electronic health record platform.

· Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with medical group, hospital, payer, and regulatory requirements.

· Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development as appropriate.

· Support the continued growth of Gastroenterology services within Emanate Health Medical Group.

Qualifications

· Medical degree from an accredited medical school.

· Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.

· Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship program.

· Board certification in Gastroenterology required.

· Active or eligible California medical license.

· Current DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to start date.

· Strong clinical knowledge of gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopic techniques.

· Experience performing endoscopy, colonoscopy, biopsies, and other GI procedures.

· Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary care environment.

· Post-fellowship experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
