About NAMI Glendale and NAMI GLAC
NAMI Glendale is an affiliate of NAMI Greater Los Angeles County (GLAC), a 501(c)3 non-profit nonprofit that leads a network of grassroots chapters promoting peer-led mental health, recovery, and equity across LA County. For more information, visit www.namiglac.org/ and www.nami.org/.

POSITION: Operations Manager (Full-Time)
Reports To: Director of Chapter Services, NAMI Greater Los Angeles County (GLAC)

FLSA Status: Hourly
Hours & Rate: Full-Time, 40 hours per week at $25-$32/hour, DOE. Hybrid.
Service Area: Glendale, Burbank, Eagle Rock, Hollywood, Echo Park, Lincoln Heights, El Sereno, and Highland Park.

About the Role

The Operations Manager oversees day-to-day operations, supervises staff and facilitators, and ensures efficient delivery of high-quality mental health support, education and advocacy programs. This position works closely with the Glendale Board of Managers and community while maintaining alignment with NAMI GLAC standards.

This role is critical to ensuring that individuals and families across the service area can reliably access free, high-quality mental health support. Success means programs run smoothly, staff feel supported, partnerships are strong, and participants receive excellent mental health support.

Responsibilities

● Supervise and support a team of staff and volunteers, providing day-to-day guidance, schedule management, and performance feedback to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery

● Provide training and onboarding for new staff and volunteers on established systems, tools, and protocols

● Implement operational procedures, workflows, and reporting processes, ensuring staff understand and follow organization-wide standards

● Directly perform program coordination and administrative tasks (scheduling, outreach, registration, reminders, materials, data entry) when needed, including serving as the primary coordinator for support groups and classes in chapters that do not yet have dedicated staff

● When launching new or small programs, act as the primary coordinator until there is sufficient volume to justify additional staff, ensuring all logistics, communications, and follow‑through are completed accurately and on time

● Participate in developing local chapter goals aligned with county-level NAMI GLAC strategic plan; monitor program metrics and flag issues, risks, and opportunities to the Director

● Meet regularly with Director of Chapter Services and attend monthly Glendale board meetings; deliver project milestones and outcomes on deadline

● Ensure that programs fulfill grant deliverables, track grant outcomes, maintain required documentation and submit timely and accurate monthly program reports

● Monitor budget spending, process invoices and reimbursements, handle donations and deposits, and purchase/manage inventory to ensure alignment with approved plans

● Maintain accurate databases and records in CRM and other designated systems; ensure timely data entry for reporting

● Initiate outreach and build community partnerships; develop and maintain relationships with schools, clinics, hospitals, and social service agencies to expand program access

● Coordinate, lead and participate in outreach efforts, community events, and health fairs; oversee chapter website, social media, and newsletters

● Support chapter fundraising campaigns, strengthen donor and sponsor relationships, and maintain engagement through timely communication and impact updates

Required Qualifications

● Experience supervising staff or leading teams in a nonprofit or community setting with attention to consistency and compliance

● Strong time management, organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, programs and deadlines

● Experience with program planning and promotion, including participant engagement and recruitment

● Experience working with volunteers, including recruitment, training and retention

● Clear, professional communication skills with internal staff, external partners, and community members

● Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (Microsoft Office, Google Drive, email, spreadsheets, communication platforms)

● Knowledge of or ability to learn CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce)

● Experience coordinating meetings and events using videoconferencing software (Zoom) and scheduling software

● Must live in Los Angeles County and can reasonably commute to and/or have strong ties within the service area of NAMI Glendale (Glendale, Burbank, Eagle Rock, Hollywood, Echo Park, Lincoln Heights, El Sereno, and Highland Park)

Preferred Qualifications

● Engagement with NAMI programs and/or NAMI Glendale membership

● Bilingual (e.g. English/Spanish or English/Armenian) to serve Glendale's diverse communities

● Relevant education, training, certification, or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, operations, social services, mental health advocacy, or a related field

● Bachelor’s degree preferred; master’s degree a plus in a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered

● Experience with community engagement, marketing, public presentations, newsletter campaigns and/or mental health advocacy

● Work independently, collaboratively and take initiative to adapt to and identify unmet needs

Work Environment

· This role may require sitting, standing, walking, using a computer, attending off-site meetings or events, and occasionally lifting or transporting program materials.

· Ability to travel within the service area as needed, including transporting materials for programs and events. Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with organizational policy. Residence in the service area strongly preferred.

· Hybrid work environment, with regular on-site presence required for meetings, program enablement, outreach events, and operational needs.

· Maintain regular work schedule within normal M-F/ 9-5 business hours with the ability to shift your work schedule as-needed to work occasional evenings and weekends for programs and events.

· This nonexempt role requires accurate recording of all hours worked and adherence to NAMI GLAC policies for remote work, timekeeping, and overtime approval.

· Adherence to NAMI GLAC Code of Ethics and Employee Handbook policies.

· Maintain a professional presence when representing NAMI GLAC, including attire appropriate to the setting and audience.
