W&D Envelope Machine Adjuster

About Us:

Over the years, iColor has grown from a single location printing facility to having multiple facilities accommodate the growing needs of its clients and possess the most technological advanced equipment in the industry.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Envelope Machine Adjuster to maintain, set up and operate automatic envelope machinery. This position is responsible for making proper size changes to adjustments to all assigned machines in accordance with estimated change times. This role includes inspecting all orders processed on machines during the previous shift for correctness of folding, gumming, printing, count, and packaging; and obtains approval from lead adjuster or supervisor on start-up of new orders.

MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF OPERATING W&D E

Responsibilities:

1) Sets up and adjusts converting equipment for safe and efficient operation.

2) Start-up, adjustments involving close tolerances, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

3) Change window rolls (overhead).

4) Assists in adjuster/operator training; Provides coverage if needed

5) Examines product to ensures quality process is followed; Minimizes waste.

6) Performs preventative maintenance to ensure consistent quality production.

7) Overtime as needed, Compliance with safety rules and regulations.

8) Maintains clean machine and work area (sweeps, removes waste, etc.).

9) Ensures all quality standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.

10) Make proper size changes and adjustments to all assigned machines in accordance on work order

11) Continuously monitor all assigned machines and performance of

12) Provide training and assistance to coworkers, including other adjusters.

13) Ensure all change parts are cleaned and returned to parts cage or other assigned areas at completion of order.

14) Return ink, skids, cut blanks etc. to their assigned areas upon completion of order.

15) Review condition of all panel cutting dies with team members.

16) Ensure all check sheets, time reports, and other paperwork is filled out correctly and completely

17) Relay any special instructions or important information pertaining to machine performance.

18) Monitor machine shutdowns where applicable to ensure proper wash up of machines at end of shift

19) Ensure work area is clean

20) May act as machine operator to cover breaks or meal periods.

21) Willingness to work overtime as needed.

22) Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1) Experience with operating envelope converting equipment

2) Ability to read and comprehend job tickets and customer specifications

3) Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization

4) Excellent attention to detail including color perception and recognition

5) Able to commit to overtime and weekend work when requested or scheduled.

6) Ability to assist other operators and adjusters.

7) W&D 627 and or 628 Web experience is required

Education / Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or demonstration of skills and comprehension of such level with high level of mathematical skills. Higher education in finance, marketing, and/or business management, or graphic communications preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate with other team members in a professional manner.

Ability to troubleshoot and give clear direction to department heads.

Ability to communicate in a one-one or group setting.

Bilingual in multiple languages is a plus.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,

using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.

Manages cleanliness of work area and equipment.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of supervisory and non-supervisory personnel.

Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assisting, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
