We believe design is a collaborative art and we are structured as an integrated practice of passionate professionals committed to delivering the best design for our clients. Our team of diverse and complementary talents work together in studios, that can draw from relevant expertise and points of view from across the whole practice to analyze and solve the specific design challenges they are working on. Within the firm we have 18 practice areas, cores of expertise, that focus as centers of knowledge and analysis, that are both an essential foundation and fuel for the creative design work. Sustainability is intrinsic to our design approach. It is an essential ingredient for the design teams throughout the process, adding valuable insights, ideas, and research to the process. The Opportunity:

Perkins Eastman has an immediate need for an Architectural Designer for our Los Angeles office. We are seeking dedicated, passionate team members with strong individual design and problem-solving skills for immediate opportunities as a Designer. This position requires the candidates to support project team leaders and produce presentations suitable for the Perkins Eastman team and clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Project Manager responsible for the individual project, the Designer will be responsible for assisting in all project phases, project sizes and typologies.
Prepare program and schematic design studies, proposal, project layouts and develop designs in 3D using Revit or other 3D modeling software for client review/approval.
Assist with design development, learning the details and process of documenting design.
Assist with preparation of construction drawings and construction detailing for contractors to use as roadmap in construction.
Review building codes to ensure that design complies with the minimum legal standards.
Assist in the constructions administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals.
Prepare finished material sample boards, physical models, and graphic presentations for client approval.
Assist the design team on projects from the Pre-Schematic Phase through Construction Documents.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture
Minimum 0 to 3 years of experience required
Ability to develop, communicate and present design concepts to their team.
Strong communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills.
Proficiency with Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Rhino and other related design software is a plus.

PE has a hybrid policy that allows flexibility for our employees in managing their working days and hours to cater to their diverse needs.

Salary Range: $70k to $74k
