Optometric / Medical / Ophthalmic Technician

Responsibilities
- Welcome and prepare patients for their eye examinations.
- Obtain patient medical history and document information accurately.
- Perform preliminary testing, including visual acuity, autorefractor, tonometry, OCT, visual fields, retinal imaging (Optos/Optomap), Oculus Dry Eye Imaging, and other diagnostic testing.
- Assist the doctor during patient examinations and procedures.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, eye care products, contact lenses, and eye health.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Help ensure efficient patient flow throughout the office.
- Assist with contact lens training and follow-up visits as needed.
- Check-out patients.
- Prepare exam lanes and assist doctor with dry eye procedures.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience as an Optometric Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, or Medical Assistant preferred.
- Experience working in an optometry or ophthalmology office is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR) or medical software.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
