About the Institution

We are a private, nonprofit Christian university located in Koreatown, Los Angeles. We serve a diverse student population, including many international students, and are committed to providing accessible, student-centered support in a professional and welcoming environment.

Position Summary

The university is seeking a dependable, organized, and personable Bilingual Administrative Assistant to support the front desk and daily campus operations. The successful candidate will greet and assist students and visitors, respond to telephone and email inquiries, support admissions and registration processes, maintain student documents, and provide general administrative assistance to university staff.

Professional fluency in both Russian and English is required because this employee will regularly communicate with and assist Russian-speaking students and applicants.

Primary Responsibilities

Welcome students, applicants, faculty, and visitors and provide professional front-desk assistance.
Answer telephone calls and emails, respond to routine questions, and direct more complex matters to the appropriate staff member.
Communicate university procedures and general information clearly in both Russian and English.
Assist prospective students with applications, required documents, admissions forms, appointments, and follow-up regarding missing materials.
Support student registration, orientation, scheduling, and other student-service activities.
Enter and update student information in university databases, the student information system, and the learning management system.
Scan, organize, file, and securely maintain admissions and student records.
Prepare letters, forms, spreadsheets, registration materials, and other routine administrative documents.
Document student requests and communications through approved university channels.
Coordinate with Admissions, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Finance, faculty, and other administrative departments.
Assist with English placement testing appointments and related paperwork when assigned.
Perform general office duties such as copying, printing, mailing, maintaining supplies, and preparing materials for meetings or campus events.

Required Qualifications

Professional fluency in Russian and English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Previous administrative, front-desk, customer-service, or office experience.
Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work respectfully with students from different cultural and language backgrounds.
Ability to handle confidential student and institutional information appropriately.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, spreadsheets, and online databases.
Ability to learn university systems and follow established procedures.
Dependability, punctuality, patience, and a student-service mindset.
Willingness to work respectfully within the mission and values of a Christian university.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a college, university, language school, or other educational setting.
Experience assisting international students or processing admissions documents.
Familiarity with student information systems or learning management systems.
Experience translating or explaining routine administrative information between Russian and English.

Work Location

This is an on-site position in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The employee must be available to work regularly from the university’s Los Angeles campus.

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
