Overview:

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts, 7:30am - 4:00pm with rotating on call shifts including weekend coverage.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Orthopedic Technician performs specialized orthopedic duties such as cast application and removal, applies and removes traction, etc., and does so according to age and/or developmental needs of the patients. Assists with fracture care and orthopedic procedures; educating patients on injury care and equipment use; and preparing patients for examinations. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 2+ years related experience. Previous work experience in a pediatric or general hospital desirable.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: Completion of training program for orthopedic technicians (Registered Orthopedic Technologist required). Certified Orthopedic Technologist preferred. American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
