Full Job Description

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the Lead Payment Specialist will provide technical support and work with the Claims Supervisor to monitor provider payments and payment reports to ensure enrollment flow operates consistent with Agency policies and funding source requirements. The Lead Payment Specialist will also provide support to program Claims Supervisor in day-to-day operations in the finance department. All duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with pertinent contractual obligations and department standards.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist the Claims Supervisor when needed in oversight of processing provider payments, vendor files, provider ACH, monthly reconciliations, and preparing reports accurately and timely.
Assist Claims Supervisor in conducting random audits and monitoring of provider payments for program compliance & contractual requirements, and ensure payments is accurate and appropriate.
Assist Claims Supervisor in developing department goals and measurements systems of performance indicators.
Provide high quality customer service for all parents, providers, internal and external support. Troubleshoot and provide technical assistance to clients as needed to resolve inquiries or concerns timely with complete resolution.
Contribute to a team atmosphere by participating in monthly staff meetings, training, and assisting department co-workers as needed.
Perform a complete review of the submitted attendance record/provider payment request form prior to processing payment. Includes notification to case management when inconsistencies are discovered and making sure childcare payments are uploaded in CalSAWS timely and resolving any potential discrepancies.
Analyze, review and process childcare provider payments and making sure they are processed timely and accurately in accordance with compliance standards.
Provide support and technical assistance to providers, program staff, and other agency staff via e-mail, in person, or over the phone by trouble shooting inquiries.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years’ experience in office and or customer service environment.
Bachelor’s degree and 6 months experience in office and or customer service environment.
AA degree and 2 years’ experience in office and or customer service environment.
MS Office Suites, computer and database competency.

FLSA Status: Regular, Full-time, Non-Exempt
