Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 + Monthly Bonus Potential

Multifamily | Owner-Operator Platform

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing multifamily owner-operator with a portfolio of more than 100 apartment communities and 3,800+ units across Southern California.

They are seeking an Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of apartment communities totaling approximately 250-300 units. This is an excellent opportunity for a Property Manager or Community Manager looking to expand into a multi-site leadership role with greater ownership and earning potential.

The position offers direct exposure to operations, leasing, maintenance coordination, resident relations, and financial performance across multiple assets.

The Role

The Area Manager will serve as the operational leader for an assigned portfolio, ensuring strong occupancy, resident satisfaction, property appearance, and financial performance.

Key responsibilities include:

Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple apartment communities
Drive leasing activity, occupancy, and resident retention
Manage rent collections and delinquency processes
Coordinate maintenance teams, vendors, and unit turns
Handle resident relations, escalations, and conflict resolution
Conduct regular property inspections and ensure curb appeal standards are maintained
Monitor budgets, expenses, and property performance metrics
Partner with corporate leadership to execute operational initiatives
Ensure compliance with company policies and fair housing standards

Qualifications

2+ years of multifamily property management experience
Experience managing apartment communities, leasing activity, and resident relations
Strong understanding of collections, occupancy management, and property operations
Experience coordinating maintenance teams and vendors
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Compensation & Benefits

$60,000 - $70,000 base salary
Monthly leasing and occupancy bonuses
Potential to earn up to $2,500 per month in additional incentive compensation
