Full Job Description

Group Facilitator/Therapist – Detox & Residential Substance Abuse Treatment

The Best Treatment Los Angeles primary mission is to provide quality and individualist substance abuse treatment at all levels of care. Our employees are the heart of our company and we look forward to the new addition! We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Group Facilitator/ therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete Bio's, BAMS, CSSR, Concurrent Reviews
Complete Individual therapy sessions
Works well in a fast paced environment
Understands the importance of timely documentation and time management
Demonstrates proficiency in communication and written skills
Knowledge of state and federal statues and client confidentiality laws
Knowledge of the principles and practices of the substance abuse industry to include, ASAM criteria and levels of care
Experience working in EMR systems
Minimum of a bachelor's degree, master’s degree / registered intern or licensed preferred.
Seeks corrective criticism and has the ability to evaluate suggestions objectively

AMA Prevention (AMA Block)

Identify early warning signs of potential AMA discharges.
Intervene proactively with motivational interviewing techniques.
Collaborate with clinical and medical teams to address client concerns contributing to potential discharge.
Document interventions thoroughly in accordance with facility policy and regulatory standards.

Collaboration & Documentation

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
Communicate effectively with therapists, medical staff, case managers, and admissions.
Uphold HIPAA, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.

Qualifications

RDAT Trainee (Registered Addiction Technician) or Above licensure or Certification required
Strong working knowledge of 12-step recovery principles.
Minimum 1–2 years experience in substance abuse treatment (detox, residential, PHP, or IOP preferred).
Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations and de-escalate clients.
Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, Observation & Written skills.
Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Confidentiality laws.
Pass pre-employment drug screen
Passion for recovery and helping individuals achieve long-term sobriety.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with motivational interviewing.
Bilingual (Preferred but not required)

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to walk facility grounds, attend groups, and engage with clients throughout the day.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
