Full Job Description

Hollywood Health System Inc. is seeking an experienced Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS)/Hospice Administrator to lead the clinical operations of our growing Hospice program.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a compassionate, organized, and experienced Registered Nurse leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional end-of-life care while ensuring compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, California regulations, and Joint Commission standards.

The Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS)/Administrator is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and supervision of hospice clinical services. This position partners with executive leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance, staff development, operational efficiency, and positive clinical outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight of all hospice clinical operations.
Supervise and support interdisciplinary team members, including RNs, LVNs, Social Workers, CHHAs, Chaplains, and other clinical staff.
Ensure all patient care is delivered in accordance with physician orders, hospice regulations, and agency policies.
Coordinate patient care planning and interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings.
Participate in referral intake, clinical review, admission decisions, and census management.
Ensure timely follow-up of all referrals and coordination of patient admissions.
Oversee clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medi-Cal, California Department of Public Health, and Joint Commission standards.
Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
Assist with budgeting, productivity management, staffing, scheduling, and utilization management.
Recruit, interview, hire, orient, train, coach, and evaluate clinical staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing mentoring and corrective coaching when necessary.
Plan and facilitate staff education and in-service training programs.
Monitor quality indicators and implement corrective action plans when needed.
Collaborate with physicians, referral sources, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and community partners.
Represent the agency professionally within the healthcare community.
Provide direct patient care during periods of high census or urgent clinical need.
Perform additional duties as assigned by executive leadership.

Qualifications Required

Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current CPR certification.
Valid California Driver's License with reliable transportation and auto insurance.
Minimum of three (3) years of hospice management or leadership experience, or equivalent qualifications consistent with California hospice regulations.
Strong knowledge of:
Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation
California Hospice regulations
Joint Commission standards
Hospice eligibility guidelines
Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI)
Clinical documentation and regulatory compliance

Preferred

Previous experience serving as a Hospice DPCS or Administrator.
Experience with hospice EMR systems.
Joint Commission survey experience.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, in-office leadership position. The Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS)/Hospice Administrator is expected to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM at our corporate office. Regular office presence is required to provide leadership, oversee daily clinical operations, support staff, coordinate patient care, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and ensure timely response to clinical and operational needs. While the primary schedule is 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, flexibility is required to address urgent patient care issues, regulatory matters, or agency needs.

Schedule:

Full-time
9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (In Office)
Occasional flexibility required to meet patient care and operational needs before or after hours, and this is a salaried position.
