About Tri-City Mental Health Authority

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is a public agency serving the diverse communities of Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne.

Established in 1960, Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA) was conceptualized as a comprehensive mental health service provider, dedicated to helping families and individuals of all ages reach their full potential. Through close and dedicated collaboration with the community it serves, TCMHA has successfully created an integrated system of care that ensures access and enhances mental and emotional health. Available services include but are not limited to psychotherapy, clinical case management, medication support, peer-to-peer support, psychoeducation, linkage and referral, vocational training and support, socialization activities, and community outreach.

Are you passionate about behavioral health and/or community services?

Tri-City is now actively recruiting to fill two Community Navigator positions that will support our Navigator Team within our MHSA Department. The Community Navigators will report to a MHSA Program Supervisor and perform a variety of community-based duties, including but not limited to:

Collaborates with Full Service Partnership agencies in the service area to appropriately outreach, engage, and refer individuals to these agencies; engages in promotion and collaboration amongst interagency departments in an effort to promote all Authority programs and events when out in the community.
Provides outreach services; engages with people who need services and their families to help them identify currently available services, including formal and informal supports and services tailored to the particular cultural, ethnic, age, and gender identity of those seeking them; provides information on community resources and referrals; links individuals to agencies, health care providers, and other community networks; follows up with those individuals to ensure they have connected with support structures and are receiving assistance for their needs.
Provides information and uses Authority resources to meet with agencies, faith-based organizations, and attend other community events; recruits community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and other community groups to become part of an active and ever growing locally-based support network for people, including those most challenged by behavioral health issues.
Performs visits to individuals and their families in their homes, shelters, or on the streets to provide information and education; provides support to individuals who are unsheltered or at risk of becoming unsheltered; provides advocacy for at-risk tenants in contacting property managers to prevent or delay evictions; identifies and provides transitional housing options to individuals and their families

Ideal Candidate

Education:

Equivalent to an associate degree with college-level coursework in community health, behavioral health, or a related field.

Experience:

Two (2) years of experience providing outreach to a diverse community for health or behavioral health programs, or a related field.

Preferred candidates will be bilingual in Spanish but it is not required.

Benefits

FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

Sign-on Bonuses: $2500 for eligible positions.

Merit Salary Increases: Annually based on performance, budget availability, and supervisor approval.

CalPERS Pension: 2% @ 55 for Classic Members and 2% @ 62 for PEPRA Members; employee contributes 7% for Classic and 7.75% for PEPRA. No Social Security.

Vacation: 80 hours per year, increasing with years of service, with a maximum of 240 hours; cash-out option available.

Sick Leave: Full-Time employees = 88 hours per year with no cap.

Holidays: 11 paid holidays per calendar year, plus an additional 16 hours of Floating Holidays.

Longevity Pay: $2500 at 5 years of service; $5000 at 10-35 milestone years of service.

Flexible Work Schedule: Eligible for a 9/80 or alternate work schedule, subject to supervisor approval and operational needs.

Health Insurance: Medical (Kaiser HMO), dental (MetLife PPO), and vision coverage (EyeMed), of which 80% is paid by Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA).

Life Insurance: Paid at one time's annual salary, paid by Tri-City MHA, with additional optional coverage available.

Deferred Compensation (457b): Available to interested employees; no employer match.

Additional Optional Benefits: EAP, FSA, STD/LTD & ADD, Bilingual Incentive Pay, On Call Pay, Employee Referral Fee Program, Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility, Credit Union available through CU of So Cal, paid time off for Continuing Medical Education (CME), and more.

The availability of a flexible schedule and regular days off depends on the needs of the Department and approval from Management.
