HR & Payroll Coordinator

Location: Gardena, CA
Job Type: Full-Time (On-Site)
Pay: $23.00–$26.00 per hour, depending on experience

At 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, we believe our people are our greatest asset. We're looking for an organized, dependable HR & Payroll Coordinator to join our People & Culture team.

Processing payroll is the primary responsibility of this role, but you'll also support a variety of Human Resources functions that help create a positive employee experience across our organization.

This position is ideal for someone with payroll experience who enjoys helping people, values accuracy, and wants to continue growing their career in Human Resources.

This is a fully on-site position based in our Gardena office. We believe our People & Culture team is most successful when we work together, support our employees face-to-face, and build strong relationships throughout the organization.

What You'll Do

Payroll (Primary Responsibility)

Process bi-weekly payroll using our HRIS system
Audit employee timecards for accuracy and completeness
Process payroll adjustments, reimbursements, and manual earnings
Review payroll reports before submission
Maintain payroll records and documentation
Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and confidentially
Support payroll compliance and reporting requirements

Human Resources

Coordinate new hire onboarding and employment documentation
Maintain confidential employee files and HR records
Assist with recruiting and hiring administration
Conduct routine HR compliance audits
Scan, organize, and maintain HR documentation
Assist with benefits administration and employee communications
Support HR projects and day-to-day administrative functions

QualificationsRequired

At least one year of payroll processing experience
Experience using an HRIS payroll system such as:
Paycom (strongly preferred)
ADP, UKG, Paylocity, or a similar payroll platform
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Proficiency with GSuite

Preferred

California payroll experience
Human Resources experience
Multi-location payroll experience
Experience with onboarding, benefits administration, or HR compliance
