About PAWUP
PAWUP Inc. is a growing pet products company focused on expanding its retail presence throughout Southern California.
We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative – Pet Products to develop new business with independent pet stores, pet boutiques, pet supply stores, grooming shops, and other qualified local retail businesses.
This is a new business development / hunter sales role. The primary responsibility is to identify prospective retail customers, conduct in-person cold visits, build relationships with store owners and buyers, introduce PAWUP products, generate initial orders, and develop long-term repeat business.
This is not an account-maintenance-only position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable developing a sales territory from the ground up and actively creating new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate is confident, professional, self-motivated, organized, comfortable working independently in the field, and able to consistently follow up with prospective customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop new independent retail accounts throughout Southern California.
- Conduct in-person cold visits to independent pet stores, pet boutiques, pet supply stores, grooming shops, and other assigned retail prospects.
- Identify and communicate directly with store owners, managers, buyers, and purchasing decision-makers.
- Introduce PAWUP pet products and clearly explain product features, pricing, wholesale opportunities, and retail benefits.
- Present product samples, catalogs, price lists, promotional materials, and other sales resources.
- Build strong relationships with prospective and existing retail customers.
- Convert qualified prospects into initial orders.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective customers.
- Support repeat orders and long-term account development.
- Identify opportunities to increase product selection and sales volume within existing accounts.
- Collect customer feedback, competitor information, pricing insights, and local market intelligence.
- Maintain accurate customer information, visit records, follow-up dates, and sales opportunities using the company’s CRM and reporting systems.
- Complete daily and weekly sales activity reports.
- Attend sales meetings, product training sessions, and approved promotional events as required.
- Participate in territory planning and account review meetings with management.
- Use company-approved AI tools, including ChatGPT, to assist with sales reporting, customer visit summaries, follow-up preparation, research, territory planning, and other business-related tasks.
Work Structure
This is primarily a field-based outside sales position serving Southern California.
The employee will spend the majority of the workweek visiting prospective and existing customers within assigned territories.
Employees are required to report to the PAWUP office in City of Industry a minimum of two days per week, and more frequently when reasonably required for meetings, training, product needs, or other business purposes.
Office visits may include:
- Picking up product samples and sales materials
- Returning or organizing samples
- Sales meetings
- Product training
- Territory planning
- CRM and customer account reviews
- Follow-up planning
- Team meetings
- New product introductions
The specific office and field schedule may vary depending on territory assignments, customer appointments, meetings, and business needs.
This is not a remote position. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the City of Industry office and be able to travel throughout assigned Southern California territories.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional sales experience.
- Experience in outside sales, field sales, B2B sales, territory sales, wholesale sales, or business development is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect for new customers rather than relying exclusively on existing accounts or company-provided leads.
- Comfortable conducting cold visits and initiating conversations with unfamiliar business owners and decision-makers.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Professional English communication proficiency.
- Ability to independently manage an assigned sales territory and organize daily customer visits.
- Strong follow-up discipline and attention to customer details.
- Ability to complete sales reports, CRM updates, and customer follow-up tasks accurately.
- Comfortable using computers, smartphones, and digital business tools.
- Comfortable learning and using ChatGPT and other AI-assisted tools as part of the daily sales workflow.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Reliable personal vehicle and active automobile insurance.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
AI & Technology Skills
PAWUP actively uses ChatGPT and other AI-assisted tools as part of its daily sales and business operations.
Candidates should be comfortable learning and using AI tools efficiently and responsibly.
AI may be used to assist with:
- Customer visit summaries
- Daily sales reporting
- Follow-up preparation
- Customer research
- Territory planning
- Sales organization
- Market and competitor research
- Internal communication and documentation
Previous advanced AI experience is not required. However, candidates must be willing to learn and adapt to AI-assisted workflows.
Experience with CRM systems, Google Workspace, Excel, Google Sheets, or similar business software is also preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience is preferred but not required:
- Previous sales experience in the pet industry.
- Experience selling pet food, pet treats, pet supplies, grooming products, or other pet-related products.
- Experience working with independent pet stores, pet boutiques, grooming shops, distributors, or pet retail accounts.
- Consumer packaged goods (CPG) sales experience.
- Food and beverage sales experience.
- Experience selling physical consumer products.
- Wholesale or distributor sales experience.
- Retail account development experience.
- Experience with product samples, merchandising, trade shows, product demonstrations, or promotional events.
- Familiarity with the Southern California retail market.
- CRM and sales pipeline management experience.
Direct pet industry experience is valuable, but it is not required. Strong outside sales professionals from CPG, food and beverage, wholesale, retail, distribution, merchant services, and other B2B industries are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base hourly compensation: $24.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Additional new-account and performance-based bonus opportunities.
- Additional ongoing sales commission in accordance with the company’s written commission plan.
- Full-time, non-exempt hourly position.
