Job Summary:
The Legal Intern supports the Legal Department through supervised, hands-on learning experiences involving legal research, regulatory analysis, compliance monitoring, and project support. This internship provides practical exposure to corporate legal operations, product regulatory compliance, contract administration, and legal research related to the powersports and micromobility industries. The role is designed to develop foundational legal, analytical, and business skills while supporting the Legal Department on a variety of legal and compliance initiatives.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and administrative guidance related to motorcycles, e-bikes, dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and other micromobility products.
- Research legislative developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends affecting the Company's products, services, and business operations.
- Summarize legal research findings and prepare memoranda, reports, briefing materials, and presentations for review by Legal Department personnel.
- Assist in monitoring changes to applicable laws and regulations that may affect product compliance, sales, distribution, licensing, marketing, or other business operations.
- Support the development, organization, and maintenance of internal legal compliance resources, regulatory trackers, reference materials, and research databases.
- Assist with organizing legal documents, contracts, regulatory guidance, compliance records, and other departmental documentation.
- Support the preparation of internal legal presentations, compliance training materials, policies, legal correspondence, and other communications.
- Assist with legal due diligence activities, contract review, document organization, and special legal research projects under the guidance of Legal Department personnel.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Product Management, Engineering, Government Affairs, Operations, and other business functions to gather information supporting legal and regulatory research activities.
- Maintain the confidentiality of privileged, proprietary, and other sensitive business information in accordance with Company policies and applicable legal requirements.
- Participate in department meetings, training sessions, cross-functional projects, and professional development opportunities to expand legal, regulatory, and business knowledge.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned in support of the Legal Department and professional development.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Legal Studies, Pre-Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Business Law, or a related field required.
- Currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program with a minimum of one (1) completed academic year prior to the internship start date.
- Basic understanding of legal research methods, statutory interpretation, and regulatory compliance principles preferred.
- Familiarity with legal research resources, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, government websites, or other legal databases, is a plus.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret legal and regulatory information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive or proprietary information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and willingness to learn in a collaborative, professional environment.
- Experience working in a multinational company within an international team is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a plus.
Schedule:
This is a part-time internship position. Interns are generally expected to work between 20 and 25 hours per week and no more than 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Work schedules may vary based on business needs and, where applicable, the intern's university work authorization requirements.

Work Authorization:
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. This internship may support Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT) for eligible F-1 or J-1 international students, subject to university approval and applicable federal immigration regulations.
Physical Demands:
This position operates in a professional office environment and requires extended periods of sitting and computer use while conducting legal research, preparing written materials, and participating in meetings. Regular use of standard office equipment is required.
