About Sound Club
Sound Club is a creative music studio for kids and teens ages 8–16, specializing in hands-on programs in DJing, Sound Design/Foley, and Music Production, Recording & Audio Engineering.
Our students learn in a professional studio environment using industry-standard software and equipment while developing real-world creative and technical skills.
We are looking for a Studio Coordinator / Receptionist who can help manage the day-to-day operations of the studio while also bringing a working background in music production and sound design.
This is an ideal position for someone who is organized, professional, friendly with families, and comfortable working in a professional audio environment.
Position Overview
The Studio Coordinator serves as the front desk and operational point person for Sound Club. You will welcome students and parents, manage scheduling and communication, maintain an organized and professional studio environment, and support instructors with daily operations.
Unlike a traditional receptionist position, this role requires hands-on knowledge of music production and sound design.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable using Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and/or GarageBand and have enough practical audio-production experience to assist students, troubleshoot basic studio issues, and step in to lead or support a Music Production or Sound Design class when needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudio Coordination & Front Desk
- Greet students, parents, and visitors warmly and professionally
- Answer phone, email, and in-person inquiries about programs and enrollment
- Manage class schedules, instructor schedules, bookings, and studio usage
- Assist families with registration, scheduling, and general program questions
- Maintain student records, attendance, payments, and administrative information
- Communicate professionally with parents, students, instructors, and management
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation of the reception area, classrooms, and studio
- Monitor and organize studio supplies and equipment
- Help ensure classes begin and end smoothly and on schedule
Music Production & Sound Design Support
- Assist instructors and students with Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and GarageBand
- Support basic recording, editing, beat-making, arranging, and mixing activities
- Assist with Sound Design and Foley projects, including recording, creating, editing, and layering sound effects
- Help students use microphones, audio interfaces, MIDI controllers, headphones, plugins, and other studio equipment
- Troubleshoot basic DAW, audio-routing, and studio-equipment issues
- Prepare computers, equipment, and classrooms before lessons
- Help maintain and organize recording and production equipment
- Be prepared to substitute or assist with Music Production and Sound Design classes when an instructor is unavailable
Required Qualifications
- Working proficiency in Logic Pro and/or Ableton Live
- Familiarity with GarageBand
- Practical experience with music production, recording, audio engineering, or related audio work
- Knowledge of sound design, Foley, or audio post-production
- Understanding of recording techniques, editing, basic mixing, and audio signal flow
- Comfortable using microphones, audio interfaces, MIDI controllers, plugins, virtual instruments, and studio equipment
- Ability to explain music production and sound concepts clearly and in an age-appropriate way to children and teens
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, welcoming, dependable, and proactive
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Comfortable working with children and families
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn scheduling and studio-management software
- Reliable and able to work independently when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or working with children or teens
- Experience in a music studio, recording studio, music school, or creative educational environment
- Experience teaching or assisting with Music Production or Sound Design
- Proficiency in multiple DAWs, particularly Logic Pro and Ableton Live
- Background in audio engineering, film audio, Foley, multimedia, game audio, podcast production, or digital media
- Experience with songwriting, composition, beat-making, or recording
- Basic DAW and studio-equipment troubleshooting skills
- Previous administrative, receptionist, studio coordinator, or customer-service experience
