Duties:
- Perform alterations and repairs on garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and replacing buttons or zippers
- Use sewing machines and other tools to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
- Follow patterns and instructions to create new garments or modify existing ones
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a seamstress or tailor
- Proficiency in basic math for measuring and calculating fabric requirements
- Strong sewing skills, including the ability to operate sewing machines and perform various stitching techniques
- Knowledge of garment construction techniques and materials
- Familiarity with fashion retail trends and styles
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and understand their requests
