About Us

Miser Wealth Partners is a wealth management firm serving high-net-worth individuals and families throughout East Tennessee. We are the only firm in our market where investment management, advanced tax strategy, estate and legal planning, Medicare, Social Security, and long-term care planning are all handled in-house, by a dedicated team of specialists working together under one roof. Nothing is referred out. No client is left to coordinate between separate professionals working from separate playbooks.Our tax practice serves multi-generational families, retirees, closely held corporations, small business owners, professional practices, and other clients with complex tax situations. This is not a high-volume, one-size-fits-all filing operation. The work regularly touches both individual and business returns, with real exposure to tax planning, research, compliance work, and client situations more complex than what a candidate would typically see at a traditional tax preparation firm.We take on complexity that other firms deflect. We measure our success by what our clients achieve, not by what was sold to them.

Role Mission

Ensure every client tax return is prepared accurately, filed on time, and reflects the strategy our advisors have designed, so the planning that happens in a client meeting is fully realized on paper.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes real ownership of their work and wants to build their technical foundation inside a firm where tax preparation and tax strategy operate side by side, not in separate silos.The right candidate demonstrates:

Precision and discipline in detailed, document-heavy work
The ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously without letting any one of them slip
Professional, clear communication with clients and senior staff
A genuine interest in developing beyond compliance work into a deeper understanding of tax strategy

This role does involve client interaction, but the primary focus is building strong technical skill in tax preparation, research, and compliance. We prioritize technical ability and attention to detail over polished client-facing presence.

Responsibilities & Expectations

Preparing individual and business tax returns accurately and on time
Assisting with tax planning and research to support client strategies and compliance
Gathering, organizing, and reviewing client documents and financial information
Reconciling accounts and reviewing financial statements for accuracy
Communicating professionally with clients and senior staff to obtain information and provide updates
Preparing and maintaining detailed workpapers and supporting documentation
Managing workload effectively and meeting filing deadlines, particularly during busy season
Assisting with responses to tax notices and other compliance-related matters
Staying current on federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations

Required Experience & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or progress toward completion)
0 to 2 years of relevant tax or accounting experience, including internships
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred, not required:

Experience with tax preparation software such as UltraTax, Lacerte, or ProSystem fx
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks
Progress toward CPA or EA designation
Basic understanding of GAAP and financial statement analysis
