Position Summary:
The Admissions Associate assists with the admission of patients by coordinating inquiry calls and admissions between referral sources and clinical staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable):
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Will be required to maintain CPI and CPR certifications.
Work experience: Experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have excellent telephone etiquette; excellent organizational and time management skills. Completes assignments accurately, in a timely manner, and within procedural guidelines. Organizes and prioritizes work. Must be computer literate.
Interpersonal Skills: Must have strong communication skills (oral and written); positive people skills; team player; tact and cooperativeness; initiative; ability to handle fast-paced workload; ability to work in environment with frequent interruptions. Assist Admission’s Supervisor with the admissions process:
- Answer incoming telephone inquiries.
- Gather necessary information from caller via fax, mail, phone, etc.
- Consult with professional staff regarding appropriateness of admission or suitable referral sources.
- Obtain/verify financial arrangements/third party payer coverage.
- Assist in arranging transportation from facility.
- Assist in communication with other departments regarding admissions.
- Complete all necessary paperwork involved with inquiry/admissions process.
- Assist Admissions Supervisor in compiling all inquiry calls to the facility and track the final disposition.
- Establishing and maintaining excellent referral communications.
