High Society Tax Co. is expanding our network of remote tax preparers for the upcoming tax season.
We’re looking for both experienced tax professionals and motivated individuals who are new to the industry.
You don’t need years of tax experience to get started with us. What matters is that you’re professional, comfortable with technology, detail-oriented, willing to learn, and serious about building your skills and earning potential.
We provide the training, systems, tax software, compliance structure, and Quality Review support to help our preparers operate confidently in a completely virtual environment.
What You’ll Do
As a Remote Tax Preparer, you’ll work with clients virtually to prepare accurate federal and state income tax returns.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting virtual client intake and reviewing tax documentation
- Preparing individual and applicable self-employed tax returns using company-provided tax software
- Identifying applicable deductions and tax credits based on client information
- Following IRS due-diligence and documentation requirements
- Communicating professionally with clients throughout the preparation process
- Submitting completed returns through High Society Tax Co.’s internal Quality Review process before e-filing
- Protecting confidential taxpayer information and following company security procedures
- Completing required training and staying current on applicable tax procedures
New to Tax Preparation?

Selected entry-level candidates will complete the High Society Tax Co. Academy, our structured preparer training program covering tax fundamentals, client intake, tax software, IRS due diligence, compliance, data security, and our internal preparation workflow.
We’ll also provide guidance for obtaining your IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) if you don’t already have one.
Successful completion of required onboarding and training is required before preparing client returns through the firm.

Tax preparation experience is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
An active IRS PTIN is required before preparing returns for compensation. Candidates who don’t currently have one must be willing and eligible to obtain one.
Reliable computer equipment, high-speed internet, and a smartphone are required for remote work.
Compensation
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with performance-based compensation.
Compensation may be structured as a commission percentage of eligible tax preparation fees or a predetermined amount per qualifying completed return, depending on experience and the applicable compensation agreement.
There is no predetermined earnings ceiling; actual earnings depend on client volume, completed and paid returns, performance, and the terms of the contractor’s compensation agreement.
