Full Job Description

Reports to: Production Manager

FSLA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This person assists the Production Manager to produce baked goods and ice cream prep products for The Comfy Cow. The baked goods and prep items produced by the Production Assistant contribute to a robust menu of store offerings and traditional and innovative ice cream flavors.

The Production Assistant will assist the Production Manager with the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Bake cookies, pies, pastries, and other baked goods
Use icing, fillings, and decorations for presentation
Measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter, following recipes
Roll, cut and shape dough to form pie crusts, tarts, cookies and other related products
Place dough / batter in pans, molds or on sheets and bake in a convection oven; observe products while cooking and adjust controls as needed
Mix icings and other toppings and decorate cakes and other baked goods
Use a variety of kitchen tools, including electric mixers, pans, rolling pins and cutting tools
Mix, cut, and form dough according to recipes
Use machinery and appliances for mixing, baking, and storing baked goods
Maintain cleanliness in kitchen area; clean cooking equipment, dishware, and utensils
Support production of baked ice cream inclusions
Perform other responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Experience in a bakery / restaurant / hospitality industry or similar retail business; or academic training equivalent thereof
Work in a way that fosters the enthusiasm, integrity, satisfaction, and high performance of all employees
Manage and maintain all facilities to defined standards
Be reliable, organized, and communicate effectively as part of a team

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Other duties may be assigned.

Walks or stands for long periods of time
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required to operate equipment set at standard height
Must reach, bend, stoop, lift, wipe
Some repetitive motion may be required
Must be able to access all small wares or product at varying heights of storage

WORK CONDITIONS

Part-time hours available with some weekend availability from time to time
Hazards include, but not limited to, slipping, tripping, burns, cuts, abrasions and falls.
