The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in recruiting, managing, and retaining volunteers for SVDP.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Recruitment & Outreach

Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers.

Create promotional materials and attend community events to attract potential volunteers.

Build relationships with SVDP Conferences, schools, businesses, and community groups.
Onboarding & Training
-
Conduct interviews and screenings to assess volunteer suitability.
-
Organize and lead orientations and training sessions to prepare volunteers for their roles.
-
Provide resources and clear instructions to ensure volunteers understand expectations.
Volunteer Management
-
Maintain accurate volunteer records and databases.
-
Develop volunteer schedules and assign tasks based on skills and interests.

Supervise volunteers during shifts and provide ongoing support.
Engagement & Retention

Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer culture.
-
Organize appreciation events and recognition programs.
-
Regularly check in with volunteers to provide feedback and gather input.
Program Development & Evaluation

Evaluate volunteer programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Collect feedback from volunteers and staff to refine processes.
-
Monitor and report on volunteer hours, impact, and outcomes.
Communication & Collaboration

Serve as the main point of contact between volunteers and staff.

Communicate organizational goals and updates to volunteers.

Collaborate with various departments to meet program needs.
Administrative Duties

Maintain volunteer policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements related to volunteer activities.

Education, Qualifications, Certifications, Trainings, Licenses:

Minimum High School Diploma

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Nonprofit experience is a plus

Successfully pass any required pre-employment background and drug screening

Maintain a valid Driver’s license, and personal auto insurance and be able to be insured by SVDP
