Full Job Description

Quality Assurance Material Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Quality Assurance Material Specialist to manage and execute our Quality Management System (QMS). This role requires interaction with suppliers, internal and external customers, and involves ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of materials. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of food safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Adhere to company health and safety rules and ensure compliance with Food Safety and GMP guidelines.
Review, verify, and maintain Certificates of Analysis (COA) for incoming food materials and Certificates of Conformance for food contact packaging.
Communicate with vendors to obtain accurate COA documents when necessary.
Inspect transport carriers and materials upon receipt to ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Defense standards.
Sample and submit raw materials and ingredients for microbiological and analytical testing.
Verify accuracy of production picks with raw materials, ingredients, and packaging labels.
Ensure traceability of returned food materials through proper labeling and seals.
Inspect outgoing final product shipments and transport carriers to ensure food safety.
Place materials on hold if they are out of specification, damaged, or improperly labeled, and handle disposition as required.
Support the warehouse team by performing physical inventory counts and verifying labels and food materials.
Conduct weekly GMP/Food Safety inspections with the Warehouse Manager, log findings, and monitor corrective actions.
Communicate pest control corrective actions to the QA Manager.
Verify cleaning and sanitizing of V-Blender and perform/document pre-operational checks when required.
Assist with maintaining the Master Sanitation Schedule with the Warehouse Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of HARPC, cGMPs, FDA regulations, and documentation procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1-3 years of experience in a similar industry or role.
Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Adaptability to shifting priorities and ability to work with urgency in a growing, unstructured environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

Ambient conditions in a non-air-conditioned production environment, with exposure to hot or cold temperatures and various seasonal elements, both indoors and outdoors.
Potential exposure to allergens (e.g., peanuts), dust, and odors.
Noise levels may exceed 85 decibels, requiring hearing protection during most of the work shift.
Protective clothing required, including uniforms, hardhats, earplugs, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and safety harnesses as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, and perform other physical activities regularly.
Ability to lift and transport materials up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces, using ladders or scaffolding as needed.
Willingness to wear respirators and other personal protective equipment as required.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
