JOB TITLE: Compounder

SALARY GRADE/LEVEL/RANGE: Hourly
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Responsible for blending the required raw material components for finished goods and to assist with the set-up and start-up of extrusion lines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Set up equipment, according to specifications, for blending and conveying the raw materials for the extrusion process.
· Accept and record the amount and weight of materials (virgin, reclaim, customer supplied, and virgin mix) to be used for production, according to specification.
· Mix, blend and control the material mix that is delivered to the extruder according to specifications.
· Set up and operate the electronic control systems that monitor the transport, blending (weighing and mixing) and materials environment of the raw materials during a production run according to specifications.
· Clean up equipment in area of responsibility following a production run.
· Assist, at the direction of the Machine Operator, with the set-up and clean-up of the production line.
· Participate in the machine start-up and running, assisting the operator and stacker as needed.
· Complete all necessary production paperwork related to the extrusion process in a timely and accurate fashion.
· Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned
COMPETENCY:
· Demonstrated math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication) plus decimals, fractions, and percentages.
· Basic computer skills
· Written and verbal communication skills in English
· Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
· Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
· Self-motivated
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

· Prolonged standing or sitting while performing job function
· Repeated bending and twisting when stacking sheets
· Regular cleaning and disassembling of equipment may require kneeling and working in

· Good hand-eye coordination.
· Must be able to distinguish between colors.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Full Time, 3rd shift, Monday thru Friday, some weekends are required. Overtime can be expected.
TRAVEL: No travel is expected for this position.
EDUCATION: High school education or equivalent preferred; however, three years in manufacturing experience is acceptable
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one-year manufacturing is preferred.
