Full Job Description

Qualifications

Smart Source is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to take ownership of significant accounting areas across cash, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and the general ledger. This role leads assigned portions of the month-end close, prepares and reviews reconciliations, analyzes financial activity, and supports audits.

Required Qualifications in addition to MS Business Central Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

· 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience

· Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, accrual accounting, and U.S. GAAP

· Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and close schedules

· Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, large-data-set analysis)

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Clear written and verbal communication skills

· Sound judgment and professionalism with confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

· ERP implementation experience strongly preferred

· Inventory and cost accounting experience in distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, BPO, or multi-location environments

· Experience owning portions of a monthly close and supporting external audits

· Experience with process improvement, internal controls, or reviewing work of other team members

Smart Source is a national provider of print, promotional products, branded merchandise, marketing services, and business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions. Our technology-enabled sourcing, inventory management, fulfillment, and brand management capabilities help organizations improve procurement efficiency and maintain brand consistency.

We are transitioning from DemandBridge to Microsoft Business Central. Experience with Business Central is preferred, and candidates with backgrounds in BPO, manufacturing, distribution, fulfillment, or multi-location environments will be especially well-aligned with this role.

Job Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close

· Independently prepare, review, and post journal entries

· Own monthly balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations

· Lead assigned portions of the month-end and year-end close

· Prepare and review schedules, analyses, and audit documentation

Cash, Billing & Transaction Processing

· Record daily cash deposits and activity

· Review bank reconciliations and resolve unusual items

· Review summary billing, corrections, and adjustments

· Post and reconcile credit card transactions

· Review customer and vendor master-data activity and enforce documentation controls

· Provide technical accounting support across AR, AP, and cash cycles

Inventory & Cost Accounting

· Own monthly inventory reconciliations across systems and the general ledger

· Analyze inventory, freight, warehouse, and cost discrepancies

· Coordinate corrective action with operations

· Prepare and review inventory entries, adjustments, reserves, and schedules

Controls, Systems & Process Improvement

· Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and reconciliation standards

· Identify recurring issues and lead implementation of improvements

· Serve as a key resource during the Business Central transition

· Use advanced Excel/reporting tools to analyze large data sets

· Provide guidance to less-experienced team members

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
