Full Job Description

Position Summary

Taylor Rig & Equipment is seeking a Manufacturing Drafter to support the creation and maintenance of manufacturing drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and engineering documentation for our product lines.

This position works closely with Product Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Production teams to ensure engineering data is accurate, complete, and structured to support efficient manufacturing processes.

The Manufacturing Drafter is not responsible for product design. Instead, this role focuses on converting design intent into clear, production-ready documentation that supports our configure-to-order manufacturing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
Generate detailed part, weldment, assembly, and installation drawings from existing 3D models.
Structure drawings and BOMs to support manufacturing workflows and value stream requirements.
Process engineering change requests and incorporate approved redline changes from manufacturing.
Maintain drawing revisions and engineering documentation.
Create exploded views, assembly instructions, and work instruction documentation.
Verify BOM accuracy and consistency between drawings and ERP systems.
Work with manufacturing personnel to resolve drawing discrepancies and improve documentation quality.
Support standardization of drawings, assemblies, weldments, and documentation practices.
Assist in maintaining CAD and document control standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SolidWorks PDM.
Experience supporting fabrication and assembly manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of weldments, structural steel, hydraulics, and mobile equipment.
Experience with ERP-integrated BOM structures.
Experience creating work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
Strong understanding of manufacturing drawings and drafting standards.
Experience creating assembly drawings, weldment drawings, and BOMs.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and document control discipline.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

A successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to producing accurate manufacturing documentation. They will enjoy working with both engineering and production teams and will take ownership of maintaining the integrity of our engineering data.

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
