Overall quality, quality management, and quality processes are a top priority for the Company; therefore, Industrial Molding is actively recruiting for a Quality Engineer to conduct and coordinate quality assurance policies, programs, and systems, including corrective actions, customer responses, and identification of quality opportunities.
Ideal candidates will have the ability to professionally and responsibly handle client interactions, perform quality related statistical and technical analyses, and maintain product control plans and PFMEA activities for all active products; Conduct internal quality management system audits and identify non-conformities, working to initiate corrective actions for improvement and recommending solutions. Occasional travel will be required with this position.
Applicants must have experience in strategic planning and execution, along with knowledge of quality management and quality management systems, contracting, negotiation, and change management. Comprehension of sales quota goals and revenue expectations, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to clearly present ideas or complex issues are expected. Candidates must also have the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively.
At minimum, an Associate’s degree is required; however, a Bachelor’s degree is much preferred. Fields of education may include engineering, quality management, statistics, or any other concentration in math.
Familiarity with injection molding, lean manufacturing principals and an ASQ certification is highly desired. At least three (3) years of hands-on quality experience is required.
Essential functions of the position include:
· Performs various quality related statistical and technical analyses to draw conclusions of the given data.
· Conducts corrective action analyses on product, process, and quality system opportunities.
· Works in concert with team leaders, engineers, and operators to identify and contain quality nonconforming products.
· Maintains product control plans and PFMEA for each active product and identifies controls on incoming inspection activities to assure receipt of qualified raw materials.
· Verifies that the latest standards and specifications are in use at the work centers.
· Determines the causes and location of nonconforming products, initiates team working, and recommends solutions as appropriate to solve problems and prevent reoccurrence.
· Conducts Internal Quality Management System audits, identifies non-conformities, and initiates and tracks corrective actions for improvement.
· Reviews technical publications, articles and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in the industry.
· Coordinates customer contacts concerning product quality. Ensures appropriate and timely responses, testing, and that all preventive and corrective actions are completed both internally and externally.
· Supports product development through active participation in pre-planning meetings, advanced product quality control planning (APQP), advanced gage planning, PFMEA development, and measurement support including gage control (MSA) and first production run evaluations of new products.
· Provides shipping documents as required by the customer, such as certificates of compliance and/or statistical summaries of product data.
· Performs tasks as needed in metrology with advanced measuring machines and techniques including gage controls (MSA) and has a working knowledge of all measuring equipment used for production control.
· Fulfills quality objectives and goals as determined by the Plant Manager and the Quality Manager.
· Supports training activities related to product quality, statistics, team-working, prevention and reliability.
