Full Job Description

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Client Retention & Service Specialist to support both retention efforts and day-to-day client service operations. This role combines ticketing system management, inbound and outbound calls, and proactive retention outreach. The ideal candidate is empathetic, persuasive when needed, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating CRM systems to support merchants and sales agents while strengthening long-term customer relationships.
This position plays a key role in reducing churn, resolving concerns, and delivering a consistently positive client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively engage with merchants requesting to cancel services, using consultative and solution-focused techniques to retain accounts
Manage inbound and outbound calls, emails, chats, and ticket requests with a customer-first approach
Utilize CRM systems to handle merchant and sales agent requests efficiently and accurately
Analyze customer account history and behavior to tailor retention solutions, offers, or next steps
Process a variety of requests including merchant billing inquiries, pricing questions, and service-related concerns
Educate customers on loyalty programs, benefits, value-added services, and available solutions
Resolve escalated customer issues with empathy, professionalism, and efficiency
Ensure all calls and tickets are addressed daily and documented thoroughly in the CRM
Collaborate with customer support, sales, marketing, and leadership to improve service and retention strategies
Seek approval from upper management for requests or changes involving potential costs
Meet or exceed retention, satisfaction, and performance KPIs
Attend team meetings, training sessions, and one-on-ones to stay aligned with company goals and procedures
Provide support in other operational areas as needed based on business needs

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred
2–4 years of experience in customer service, retention, account management, or call center roles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to de-escalate issues, handle objections, and solve problems effectively
Customer-focused mindset with a balance of empathy and accountability
Strong analytical skills with comfort interpreting numbers, billing details, and account data
Experience using CRM systems and ticketing platforms
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Professional phone etiquette and solid typing skills
Ability to collaborate well within a team environment
Bilingual preferred

Preferred Experience

Experience in retention, loyalty programs, subscriptions, financial services, SaaS, or credit card processing
Familiarity with churn metrics, retention analytics, or customer lifecycle management
