Full Job Description

The Karr Group, Killington's largest hospitality management company, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary team at JAX Food & Games.

JAX Food & Games is Killington's hometown bar—a favorite destination for great food, drinks, and entertainment. Featuring classic American fare, a full-service bar, and arcade games, JAX delivers outstanding hospitality in a fun, energetic atmosphere for both locals and visitors.

As Kitchen Manager, you'll lead a high-volume kitchen, develop and mentor your team, and ensure exceptional food quality, consistency, and operational excellence. This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building strong teams and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all kitchen operations
Supervise, train, coach, and develop the kitchen team
Create employee schedules and manage labor to meet business needs
Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and recipe execution
Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and order supplies
Manage kitchen budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
Partner with front-of-house leadership to deliver an outstanding guest experience

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role
Experience leading teams in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, inventory management, and food cost control
Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities
Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods
