Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
The Raw Material Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory and accountability for all cold room activities, including receiving, loading/unloading raw materials, palletizing products, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness. This position maximizes cold room space and utilizes a handheld computer/scanner to pull inventory for production. The clerk will perform frequent data analysis and inventory research, and must alert the Purchasing department when stock reaches critical reorder points.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Move product through various stages of storage and production using a handheld scanner.
-Conduct daily housekeeping of work areas according to GMPs, including regular sweeping and scrubbing of floors.
- Arrive on time for assigned shifts and adhere to all safety rules when operating equipment.
- Pick and pull all raw materials needed for daily production.
- Ensure warehouse efficiency by maintaining organized inventory.
- Check with the supervisor before the end of the shift to confirm task completion and review schedule changes.
- Understand job duties and seek clarification when needed.
- Utilize the Business Central system.
- Weigh all raw materials entering production and returning to inventory.
- Assist with unloading raw material deliveries as needed.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing department to maintain ideal inventory levels.
- Ensure inventories are placed correctly and metal racking remains properly stocked.
- Store raw materials in a timely fashion upon arrival.
- Maintain raw material inventory via weekly cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
- Report any raw material discrepancies to the supervisor or the Purchasing department.
- Assist 1st and 2nd shift production with all required raw material items.
- Operate a forklift and pallet jack (requires active forklift certification).
- Assist in completing the put-away process for previously received goods.Ensure inventories are put in proper places and keeping metal racking properly stocked
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
-High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to multi-task and learn from example.
- Physical ability to walk or stand for at least 8 hours, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency operating a forklift, electric and manual pallet jacks, and other designated warehouse equipment.
- Prior experience with inventory control, handheld scanners, and Microsoft Office
(especially Microsoft Excel) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and work ethic skills.
- Team player able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Follow written and verbal instructions in Englsih.
- Working knowledge of Atkinson products and raw material items is preferred.
-Must be able to work in a cold environment of 48°-52° for up to 90 % of the day.
