Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prevention Specialist to join our team in Crenshaw County. This position operates within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, focusing on community education, early intervention, prevention, and behavioral health awareness. In this role, you will provide substance use prevention services in alignment with grant and program objectives, helping promote healthier communities through outreach, education, and collaborative prevention initiatives across schools, businesses, community organizations, and other service systems.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required, with relevant experience and/or orientation

Strong communication, public speaking, and presentation skills

Ability to effectively engage with children, adolescents, adults, schools, and community stakeholders

Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple prevention initiatives

Experience in prevention services, behavioral health education, community outreach, or public health preferred

Knowledge of substance use prevention strategies, early intervention, and community-based programming preferred
Responsibilities:

Provide substance use prevention and behavioral health awareness services to schools, businesses, industries, juvenile justice programs, and other community groups

Plan, organize, and facilitate prevention activities for children and adolescents in schools, after-school programs, summer programs, and community settings

Conduct educational workshops, presentations, and prevention programming for adults and community stakeholders

Support early intervention efforts by promoting awareness, healthy decision-making, and risk reduction strategies

Coordinate and maintain communication regarding prevention initiatives with internal staff, schools, and community partner agencies as directed by the Prevention Director

Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with school counselors, educators, juvenile justice partners, and community agency representatives

Assist with grant-related prevention activities, data collection, reporting, and program outcome tracking as required

Promote timely access to behavioral health education, prevention resources, and community support services within the CCBHC care model
ALL candidates must be able to type and have basic computer skills, possess a valid driver’s license, eligibility for coverage under center liability insurance and individually held vehicle liability insurance with a clear background check.
