Full Job Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the financial operations for manufacturing company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare, maintain, and deliver timely and accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP requirements
Evaluate, develop, and implement appropriate internal controls, financial policies, and operating procedures
Coordinate the preparation and completion of the year-end review conducted by the external CPA firm
Manage the annual audit of the Profit-Sharing/401(k) Plan with the external CPA firm
Support the external CPA firm in the preparation of annual federal and state income tax returns, as well as quarterly tax estimates
Oversee, review, and monitor the company’s accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and job costing activities
Generate monthly and annual financial reports for ongoing contracts utilizing the percentage-of-completion accounting method
Partner with the sales team to assist with project and equipment pricing strategies
Review and process weekly payroll activities accurately and efficiently
Prepare and submit payments and tax filings related to annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly payroll tax obligations
Manage and evaluate employee benefit programs, including the Profit-Sharing/401(k) Plan, health and welfare benefits, and Flexible Savings Accounts
Direct treasury operations, serving as the primary point of contact for banking relationships
Serve as the principal liaison for general and liability insurance programs, including evaluating and selecting appropriate coverage levels and limits
Collaborate with the company’s investment advisor to oversee investment activities for both the organization and the Profit-Sharing Plan
Coordinate the selection, implementation, and ongoing support of financial software systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and payroll applications, in partnership with the Information Technology Department
Administer and provide guidance regarding the operation of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), including coordination with outside counsel, independent trustees, and third-party administrators
Advise the Chief Executive Officer on financial planning, estate planning, and income tax matters, including assistance with the preparation of annual income tax returns
Coach, mentor, and develop accounting personnel, as well as other employees who interact with accounting processes and functions

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with relevant accounting experience CPA designation preferred.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP, particularly regarding the accounting treatment of contracts within a manufacturing environment

Technical Skills

Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including the capacity to effectively convey financial concepts to individuals without a finance background
Ability to read, evaluate, interpret, and communicate financial statements and related financial reports
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Advanced Excel proficiency, including the ability to extract data from ERP and payroll systems and transform it into meaningful, actionable reports
Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications

Work Environment

Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate financial information effectively to individuals for whom finance is not a primary area of expertise

Performance Measurements

The employee’s performance will be evaluated using the following criteria:

System Level Procedures – Meet or exceed established System Level Procedures related to quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity. These standards will be established annually and communicated to the supervisor, who will then communicate them to the employee.
Professional Development – While the company will provide resources and opportunities to support professional growth, responsibility for continued development rests with the individual. Annual goals will be established in collaboration with the supervisor and communicated to the employee.
Employee Relations – Through ongoing observation, the employee will be assessed on progress in areas including motivational leadership techniques, effective results, constructive and corrective feedback, and contributions to the growth and development of fellow employees, while fostering and maintaining a positive and safe work environment.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
