Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and professional Lead Carpenter / Superintendent to serve as a key leader on our active residential and commercial job sites.
This is a premier field leadership role. At L.G. Flint, our Lead Carpenters do not just execute top-tier craftsmanship, they represent the company's standards, values, and reputation directly to our clients, trade partners, and the public. You will work in close coordination with our Project Managers to supervise field operations, direct job-site personnel, and maintain our signature quality control from groundbreaking through the final punch list.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Master Craftsmanship & Field Execution
- Perform and oversee all carpentry duties with the highest level of precision, including both rough framing and high-end finish cabinetry and trim work.
- Execute project-related field tasks efficiently, keeping the construction schedule moving forward on the critical path.
- Inspect the work of your team and trade partners continuously to maintain the lofty L.G. Flint quality control standards.
2. Job-Site Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise, guide, and mentor in-house field carpenters, helpers, apprentices, and laborers on assigned projects.
- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee subcontractors on site, ensuring they adhere to safety standards, construction drawings, and project schedules.
- Assign clear daily field tasks to the project team and verify that they are completed safely, cleanly, and correctly.
3. Client Relations & Project Logistics
- Serve as the main daily point of contact for clients on site, answering progress questions warmly and professionally to build lasting trust.
- Provide accurate material takeoff quantities and coordinate material orders with Project Managers to ensure the job site is always stocked and productive.
- Maintain organized daily records of field progress, delays, and site conditions, providing regular updates to your assigned Project Manager.
- Execute project-related field tasks efficiently, keeping the construction schedule moving forward on the critical path.
- Inspect the work of your team and trade partners continuously to maintain the lofty L.G. Flint quality control standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven, strong experience in residential remodeling, finish carpentry, and new construction. Previous supervisory or job-site leadership experience is highly preferred.
- Licenses & Tools: Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and your own professional-grade hand and power tools.
- Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of current building codes, safety standards, and OSHA procedures. Must possess the ability to read and interpret complex architectural drawings and blueprints.
- Technology Fluency: Comfort and competency utilizing a smartphone for daily scheduling, communication, and field updates.
- Physical Requirements: Must be in good physical condition and able to perform labor-intensive tasks associated with carpentry and site management.
