ABOUT THE CAMPUS PASTOR OPPORTUNITY
Timberlake is seeking a campus pastor to lead our new church site, Marsh Memorial campus of Timberlake Church. This multiplication is the fulfillment of Timberlake’s vision; for the first time we will be one church in two locations. The campus pastor will lead revitalization efforts of the existing Marsh congregation while also establishing new ministry and reaching new people by replicating the culture of Timberlake at the Marsh campus.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong faith and a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ, experience leading worship and preaching, interpersonal evangelism, building teams and systems, and ministering to those in need.
The candidate will be a self-starter and driven, with high levels of initiative and humility, and a commitment to excellent ministry and working with a team. He or she will cultivate and share a deep love for the community in which Marsh campus is located.
The campus pastor will wake up each morning with a list of ministry priorities, getting things done enthusiastically and efficiently, while also loving and investing in people, nurturing their relationship with Jesus Christ and the church. He or she will think “big picture” vision and strategy, while also putting together and executing ministry plans, metrics, and timelines. The pastor will experience ministry as life-giving, and will thrive when facing challenges.
A day in the life of the campus pastor will include personal devotional and prayer time, making phone calls and visits to church members and especially to guests, writing the sermon in collaboration with the lead pastor, encouraging mission efforts, training volunteers, and empowering the congregation to reach new people, feed them, and release them to become the hands and feet of Jesus.
JOB DESCRIPTION
OBJECTIVE
In partnership with the lead pastor, elders, and staff of Timberlake Church, the Campus Pastor of Timberlake–Marsh Memorial Campus will lead the ministry to reach, feed, and release people to be the hands and feet of Jesus. He / she will simultaneously lead the revitalization of the ministry at Marsh and establish new ministry and reach new people. He / she will oversee the entire ministry at Marsh while fostering a culture of one church in two locations.

· High level of commitment to the pursuit of personal and social holiness, and the virtues and ideals of the Christian life
· Called by God for the life of ministry and the work of a local church pastor
· Agreement with and commitment to the Holy Scriptures, the Timberlake Statement of Faith, and the vision of Timberlake and the lead pastor
· Familiarity with and commitment to the culture and DNA of Timberlake

MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Leadership
o Lead the Marsh congregation in pursuit of the mission, vision, and values of Timberlake
o Replicate and spread the healthy DNA of Timberlake Church
o Identify, recruit, train, and empower leaders for the campus ministry
o Build teams for worship, hospitality, children’s ministry, discipleship, etc.
o Evaluate the ministries, providing regular updates to the executive pastor
· Worship
o Craft, plan, and lead excellent, life-giving weekly worship for the glory of God
o Collaborate with the lead pastor to prepare sermons according to the established worship themes, which result in deeper faith and the unification of campuses
o Preach weekly at the Marsh campus, and regularly at the Timberlake Road campus
o Officiate weddings and funerals
· Discipleship and Pastoral Care
o Nurture the Marsh community in faith and their connection with Timberlake Church
o Lead the congregation to reach new people
o Create systems, in conjunction with the ministry of Timberlake Road campus, for discipling people as followers of Jesus Christ
o Develop and implement systems and strategies
o Make visits to homes, hospitals, etc. for pastoral care
o Teach the faith contained in the Holy Scriptures
· Administration
o Order the life of the church campus
o Communicate frequently and regularly with the people of Marsh, through a variety of platforms (email, social media, text, etc)
o Collaborate with Timberlake staff and leaders; attend all weekly staff meetings
o Schedule and lead Marsh campus ministry team meetings
o Meet weekly with the lead pastor and executive pastor for supervision, support, training, and encouragement
o Other duties as assigned by lead pastor and executive pastor
QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in local church ministry required - with preaching experience
· Seminary education preferred
· Ordained or in pursuit of ordination
· Demonstrated ability to grow a church community
· Familiarity with and commitment to Wesleyan theology
· Ability to implement and use technological systems (PCO, etc)
