Full Job Description

A great UHY client is seeking a Director, Tax Provision. The ideal candidate will have tax provision experience, SEC tax reporting experience, and experience working in a large multi-entity organization.

The Director, Tax Provision role is a hybrid position. This is a temporary, contracted position.

Director, Tax Provision Responsibilities

Lead the quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740 and SEC reporting requirements.
Collect, review, and analyze tax reporting packages from multiple business units and legal entities.
Calculate and analyze the organization's effective tax rate and related tax provision balances.
Coordinate with finance and tax teams across multiple entities to gather accurate and timely tax information.
Review tax data, identify issues, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of tax reporting.
Prepare and review supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting and external audits.
Support SEC reporting requirements related to income taxes.
Assist with federal and state income tax compliance activities as needed.
Identify opportunities to improve tax reporting processes, documentation, and communication across the organization.
Develop standardized procedures and strengthen collaboration with business units and operating companies.
Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve complex tax reporting issues and improve data quality.
Support special projects and other strategic tax initiatives as assigned.

Director, Tax Provision Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
CPA certification preferred.
Extensive corporate tax experience with a strong emphasis on income tax provision.
Deep knowledge of ASC 740 and income tax accounting.
Experience preparing and reviewing tax provisions for large or publicly traded organizations.
SEC tax reporting experience.
Experience with Corptax or similar corporate tax provision software.
Experience working in a decentralized, multi-entity organization with numerous subsidiaries or business units.
Ability to gather, consolidate, and analyze tax information from multiple sources and stakeholders.
Experience working in large, complex organizations is strongly preferred.
Federal and state income tax compliance experience is a plus.
Strong process improvement mindset with the ability to organize and enhance tax reporting procedures.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with cross-functional teams.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving processes and multiple ERP systems.
Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to quickly adapt with minimal direction.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed execution and hands-on responsibilities.
