Techniform is looking for an experienced CNC Machine Operator to join our team. Techniform serves many industries from Aerospace to Architectural providing stretch forming, machining and fabrication. The ideal candidate would be responsible for programs, sets up and operates the CNC 3 Axis Machining Center by performing the following duties.
Job Summary:
· Sets up, operates and assists/edits programming of the CNC 3 Axis Machining Center to perform a combination of machining operations such as facing, turning, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, broaching, knurling metal work pieces to specifications.*
· Sets up and operates CNC 3 Axis Machining Center to complete metal work pieces to specifications.*
· Reviews set up sheets and specifications to determine program sequence, set up operation and dimensions of finished work piece.*
· Inserts cutting tools/tool holders and position tools on turret.*
· Verifies accuracy of machined work pieces against blueprints or engineering drawings by measuring cuts with inspection tooling and gages.*
· Makes adjustments in the program and tooling as needed to achieve correct specification.*
· Loads bar stock or tubing in feeder tube.*
· Runs secondary operations on another machine when time allows.*
· Aids management in scheduling work load to save time.*
· Trains employees in set up and maintaining quality production standards.*
· Fills out production paperwork and inspection procedures.*
· Maintains production completion logs.*
· Reports any discrepancies to immediate supervisor.*
· Performs regular daily maintenance on equipment, tools, gages and keeps work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.*
· Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.*
Qualifications:
· Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of manufacturing software; database software and CNC software
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
