Full Job Description

Osborn Jacobs & Hartung PLC is a growing multi-state collections law firm specializing in both consumer and commercial debt recovery. Founded in 2000, the firm has expanded from its Iowa roots to serve clients in multiple states, including Texas, and is recognized for delivering efficient, effective, and ethical debt recovery solutions through a team of experienced attorneys and staff. The firm’s practice emphasizes professional excellence, client collaboration, and results-driven litigation and collection services across jurisdictions.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Litigation Assistant/Paralegal with a minimum of 1–5 years of civil litigation experience—ideally gained in a high-volume litigation or collections environment. The successful candidate will support our expanding Texas litigation practice by preparing legal documents, managing e-filings and deadlines, and assisting attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Draft and prepare court-pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and related litigation documents
File documents using Texas e-filing systems accurately and timely
Manage case dockets, calendars, and litigation deadlines
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, hearings, and case strategy
Maintain organized case files and assist with document management
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and courts

Required Qualifications

1–5 years of civil litigation paralegal experience in Texas
Proficiency with Texas e-filing procedures
Strong drafting skills, including pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
Familiarity with Texas court rules and litigation processes
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with collections litigation or practice in a high-volume firm
Ability to speak Spanish (preferred but not required)
Trial preparation experience
