About Us:

Next Step Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit that exists to serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with dignity, purpose, love, and meaningful engagement. We are seeking a spiritually mature, operationally strong leader to guide our organization into its next season of growth and impact.

Position Overview:

The Executive Director is the primary leader responsible for carrying out the mission and strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. This role oversees daily operations, staff leadership, program quality, financial stewardship, and community relationships.

This position requires a unique combination of spiritual maturity, emotional intelligence, and operational leadership - someone who can build strong people, systems, and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Organizational Leadership

Lead day-to-day operations, staff, and programs
Translate Board strategy into clear execution plans and outcomes
Build a healthy, accountable, mission-aligned culture

Staff Development

Coach and develop leaders across the organization
Foster accountability, ownership, and professional growth
Support program leadership in effective team management

Operations & Compliance

Build and maintain systems, processes, and documentation
Ensure compliance with nonprofit, licensing, and IDD regulations
Oversee staffing, scheduling, reporting, and program operations

Financial Stewardship

Manage budget, cash flow, and financial reporting
Ensure transparency, internal controls, and audit readiness
Partner with finance support to maintain strong financial health

Community Engagement & Partnerships

Build and maintain relationships with families, donors, churches, and community partners
Represent the organization publicly and expand referral networks

Donor Relations & Fund Development

Cultivate and steward donor relationships
Support fundraising strategy and communication of impact

Qualifications:

Required:

Leadership experience in nonprofit, human services, education, or related field
Experience managing teams and building healthy organizational culture
Strong operational and organizational leadership skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Demonstrated alignment with the mission and values of the organization

Preferred:

Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
Knowledge of Georgia Medicaid waivers and IDD regulations
Experience working with a Board of Directors
Background in fundraising, donor relations, or community partnerships

Salary: $75,000-$100,000 dependent on experience

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
