About Us

Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Its enrollment of 8,400 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties. The University has six academic schools, including Georgia's flagship aviation program, that support its mission to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the state.

Job Summary

The Office of the Registrar is seeking a Student Assistant who will work closely with Registrar staff and MGA students assisting with daily clerical and graduation tasks. Student Assistant will have the ability to navigate and abide by MGA institutional polices. Student Assistant will report directly to the Macon Campus Assistant Registrar. This is a part-time position working up to 19 hours a week.

Responsibilities

Scan, file, copy, mail, shred, and retrieve documents as required by the Office of the Registrar Staff.
Assist students, alumni, and other MGA patrons at the front counter as necessary.
Maintain acceptable and professional quality phone service and productivity performance.
Maintain FERPA compliance.
Performs graduation duties as assigned by the Graduation Coordinator including preparation for the graduation ceremony and post-graduation tasks.

Required Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled student in at least 6 credit hours at Middle Georgia State University
Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
Must comply with (FERPA) strict confidentiality of information

Preferred Qualifications

Priority given to student applicants who successfully exited Learning Support courses

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite with an aptitude to learn imaging systems.
Professional and effective oral and written communication skills that align with excellent customer service skills.
Ability to interact effectively with the population.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
