Full Job Description

MAGISTRATE FOR THE MUNICIPAL COURT OF THE CITY OF HARTSELLE.

PERFORMS DETAILED WORK PROCESSING MUNICIPAL COURT DOCUMENTS AND PREPARING FOR MUNICIPAL COURT OF HARTSELLE. ISSUES WARRANTS OF ARREST, ORDERS SUBPOENAS AND SUMMONS TO APPEAR IN COURT, ACCEPTS MONTHLY PAYMENTS.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY.
MUST BE ABLE TO PROCESS DETAILED DOCUMENTATION WITH A HIGH LEVEL OF ACCURACY.
FOUR YEARS OF OFFICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE
ABILITY TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN COURT MAGISTRATE CERTIFICATION WITHIN ONE YEAR OF HIRE.
MUST BE BONDABLE AND MEET REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A NOTARY PUBLIC.
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK THAT INCLUDES MISDEMEANORS AND A CREDIT CHECK.
MUST HAVE A VALID ALABAMA'S DRIVER'S LICENSE AND PASS A MOTOR VEHICLE CHECK.
MUST MAINTAIN CONFIDENTIALITY OF COURT INFORMATION.
ABILITY TO WORK WELL IN STRESSFUL SITUATIONS AND TO PROVIDE EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE.
COMPUTER PROFICIENCY INCLUDING WINDOWS, MICROSOFT WORK, EXCEL AND OTHER TYPES OF OFFICE SOFTWARE.

Qualifications

PREFER MUNICIPAL COURT EXPERIENCE - STARTING PAY WILL BE BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
