Medical Scribe Job Description
This is an in office position at our hospital partnership in Decatur, AL. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a team with one of our clinical physicians and nurse practitioners, assisting with transcribing verbal and written notes into readable documents for medical records. You must be familiar with medical terminology and have excellent listening and data-entry skills. Reliability and a strong work ethic combined with great communication skills are a must, as well as familiarity with all necessary office equipment, software, and procedures.

Medical Scribe Responsibilities
- Interact with providers, patients and facilities
- Facilitate patient flow to ensure the accurate and complete medical record processing of each patient
- Assist the Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatrist by accompanying them throughout the patient visit, recording details into the medical records, and coordinating departmental resources regarding assessments, tests, orders and results
- Collaborate with care management providers to ensure a consistent, highly accurate documentation
Medical Scribe Position Requirements
- High School Diploma required; LPN/MA/CNA preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in medical office/clinic/hospital required
- Must be a proficient typist with excellent communication and organization skills
- Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA
