Velocity International Group is a growing third-party logistics (3PL) company providing warehousing, fulfillment, dedicated transportation, distribution, and final-mile delivery across the Southeast.

We aren't looking for someone to simply maintain an operation—we're looking for someone to help build one.

Over the past year, we've invested heavily in technology, implemented a Warehouse Management System (WMS), expanded our customer base, and continue to grow. We're now looking for a Warehouse Operations Manager who can bring structure, accountability, and leadership to our warehouse team while helping us build a world-class operation.

About the Role

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for leading the daily execution of all warehouse operations within our 40,000-square-foot facility.

This position oversees receiving, shipping, inventory control, order fulfillment, employee leadership, production planning, and quality assurance while ensuring exceptional service for our customers.

This role is highly visible within the company and will work directly with ownership and executive leadership to improve warehouse performance, develop employees, and implement scalable operating procedures.

What You'll Do

Warehouse Operations

Lead all daily warehouse activities
Prioritize customer orders and manage workflow
Assign labor and balance workloads throughout the day
Monitor order aging and ensure customer deadlines are met
Coordinate parcel, LTL, FTL, and company delivery routes
Ensure accurate receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping

Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop warehouse employees
Conduct daily production meetings
Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable
Train new team members
Foster a culture of teamwork, urgency, and continuous improvement

Inventory Management

Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counting and process discipline
Ensure all inbound freight is verified, documented, and properly stored
Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Maintain warehouse organization and location accuracy

Quality & Customer Service

Ensure customer orders are accurate and shipped on time
Monitor shipping documentation, BOLs, and outbound quality
Partner with the Business Systems Manager to improve warehouse processes
Support customer satisfaction through operational excellence

Continuous Improvement

Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Help implement new warehouse processes and technology
Participate in KPI reviews and performance improvement initiatives
Help build standardized operating procedures as the company continues to grow

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of warehouse leadership experience
Previous supervisory or management experience
Experience in a warehouse utilizing a WMS
Strong inventory management experience
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Ability to prioritize multiple customer needs simultaneously
Forklift experience

Preferred Qualifications

3PL experience
Experience managing multiple customer accounts
Lean or Continuous Improvement experience
KPI management experience
Experience implementing warehouse process improvements
