Maintenance Manager - Food Manufacturing

Location: Monticello, WI
Employment Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team at a cheese manufacturing facility in Monticello, WI. This is a key leadership role responsible for keeping equipment and production running efficiently, reducing downtime, developing preventive maintenance programs, and leading a skilled technical team.

The ideal candidate will have strong food manufacturing experience, previous maintenance leadership experience, and solid electrical knowledge, along with strong mechanical and hydraulic experience.

What You'll Do

Lead, coach, train, and develop the Maintenance Department and maintenance team
Plan and direct daily maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Troubleshoot and support production with equipment repairs and replacements
Provide technical leadership with a strong focus on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
Lead continuous improvement initiatives involving facility, equipment, production, and technical systems
Manage contractors and outside vendors as needed
Establish and enforce maintenance policies, procedures, and standards
Manage maintenance staffing, schedules, overtime, and department expenses
Develop and manage maintenance and facilities budgets
Partner with Production, Safety, Quality, and Engineering teams
Lead maintenance-related projects while ensuring budgets and timelines are met
Ensure compliance with food safety, employee safety, HACCP, allergen, pest control, and quality requirements
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall plant performance

What We're Looking For

Required:

10+ years of maintenance management or leadership experience
Previous experience in food manufacturing, packaging, pharmaceutical, or a similar production environment
Strong electrical troubleshooting and electrical systems knowledge
Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
Previous experience supervising, managing, coaching, or developing a maintenance team
Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and maintenance/ERP systems
High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field
Experience in cheese or food processing/manufacturing
Experience with SAP or other ERP/maintenance management systems
Experience managing maintenance budgets and capital projects
