POSITION GENERAL OVERVIEW
A development coordinator helps organize and administer fundraising efforts for a non-profit organization. As a development coordinator, your primary duties include scheduling and planning fundraising events, monitoring staff and volunteer calendars and event attendance, and overseeing event budgets and resources. To pursue a career as a development coordinator, you need a high school diploma or equivalent and familiarity with the non-profit sector.
Job Summary
The Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the fundraising and development team by managing and coordinating all activities related to donor relations, fundraising campaigns, special events, and other development initiatives. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Development and CEO to ensure the successful execution of all projects, programs, and events. The coordinator will also support grant writing and managing the grant folder.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute fundraising campaigns and events, including researching, creating, and managing timelines, budgets, and other materials.
- Manage donor data, gift, pledges, and other records accurately, timely, and securely.
- Ensure donor acknowledgments and other correspondence are sent promptly
- Prepare and deliver donor reports, presentations, and other materials as required.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications and other fundraising proposals.
- Coordinate and manage the organization's online presence and social media campaigns for development purposes.
- Plan and facilitate meetings and other events, including managing guest lists, registration, and other event logistics
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fundraising, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a development or fundraising role
- Proven track record in creating and managing successful fundraising campaigns
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other donor management software
- 2 years of experience in event planning
